Even if you already have a website, it is often a good idea to build a new one. If your website is already doing well in the search engines, then I usually recommend that you add more material to it, and, if necessary, bring it's design up to date to meet current market expectations. But if it is not doing well in search engines, then I usually recommend that you have a new website built from the ground up to be search engine friendly. This can either replace your existing site, or it can complement your existing site, by emphasising a specific product or service that you offer. The latter option works well if your company sells a variety of products and services. Here it makes sense to have a company website which promotes all your products and services, and a number of specialised websites promoting certain specific products and services - for example, your flagship and / or most profitable products and services.

There are many high quality websites which do poorly in search engines. This is often because they are not built with search engines in mind to start with. It can then cost many thousands of pounds to optimise them for search engines. In such cases this is to large extent a rectification of the problems that were built into the site to begin with - rather like building a house on poor foundations and then having to carry out expensive underpinning work or even having to knock it down. However, I do not claim that building a website to be search engine friendly will result in search engine success. For this you will usually still need search engine optimisation. However, by building it to be search engine friendly to start with, the cost of subsequent optimisation will be significantly less, because there will be no need to rectify anything.

For this I offer a home page, an about us page, a contact us page with a web enquiry form (vital for users who do not wish to submit their email address or those, for example, who are using a public access computer and do not have webmail), and one other page - usually a page describing in more detail your products or services. I also include an add to favourites link and a favicon (a little icon that shows when a user adds the page to their favourites menu). An email address with a webmail facility and POP3 access is also included (POP3 access is necessary if you wish to use your email address with an email client such as Outlook Express or Mozilla Thunderbird). Forwarding is also available so that if you prefer you can forward emails from you@yournewdomain.com to you@yourolddomain.com. I also include a year's web hosting in the price.
