You may have a superb website but it is generating few sales. This is where you need website marketing. However, it is an area where a huge amount of money is often wasted. I offer a low-budget, low-risk approach particularly suited to sole traders and small businesses.
Whilst I offer my services nationwide and worldwide, I specialise in providing services to Highland businesses, as I understand the special needs of businesses operating in a remote location.
For marketing your website, I use a carefully weighted and integrated blend of Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising and (ethical) Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques. Currently I use Yahoo Search Marketing (aka Overture), MSN Search Advertising, and Google AdWords, and incorporate other providers of sponsored search, such as Miva, if I feel that this will improve the effectiveness of the campaign. I also offer targeted non-search related website advertising. Campaign management or training packages are available. I also offer a variety of other services, such as web hosting, shopping carts and booking systems.
I am very flexible and can make all kinds of individual arrangements. However, I have found myself offering a fairly similar package to my clients, thus what I present below is my "typical" all-inclusive package. It has been taken up by sole traders and small family run businesses with a low marketing budget. It is scaleable according to your specific needs and can be turned on and off at any time.
I would expect to be able to get you in the region of at least 200 visitors per month (sometimes considerably more) for relevant search phrases with my typical package. It is not the volume of visitors which counts; it is who the visitors are, that is important. I write highly targeted adverts for highly specific phrases directed at relevant, well-written and attractive pages on your website (pages which I may create on your behalf, or recommend that you create), so as to attract enquirers who are actually likely to purchase the goods or services you offer.
The fees quoted include the actual advertising costs, and also include the costs of updates that need to be made to your website to meet the marketing objectives on an ongoing basis. However, if your website is administered by a third party you will have to negotiate the costs of the updates I recommend with your website administrator - you will still be benefiting from my consultancy.
I also optimise your website for search engines in the process too, again with an emphasis on providing a good user experience - quality pages that are highly relevant to their search terms. I can orient your campaign towards optimisation rather than advertising if you prefer me to do so.
If you prefer to pay directly for the advertising costs then this can be arranged and the campaign management fees will be reduced accordingly.
You can pull out at any time. You are not tied to a contract. I will transfer your campaign with all its settings etc., to another provider without extra charge if you are not satisfied.
Although I concentrate primarily on search engine advertising, I do offer a traditional search engine optimisation package. The methodology that I deploy is quite similar to what I describe above - website management combined with optimisation. My typical search engine optmisation package costs £95 per month. This also includes a (much reduced) degree of search engine advertising because it is through the search engine advertising interfaces that I am able to ascertain which search phrases are most popular, and thus use the research data to optimise your website. However, for reasons I discuss in depth on this website, I recommend that in most cases, you use my search engine advertising package as this is more likely to be effective. As I also include a degree of search engine optimisation with my search engine advertising package, I believe the search engine advertising is much better value for money.
There is an initial setup charge of £150 (although this can be reduced to £75 if you do not want to run a Yahoo-Overture campaign which requires that I pay a deposit). This is followed by a series of four major weekly campaign reviews over a period of a month at a total cost of £250 for the first month. These reviews are to refine and develop the campaign to create the maximum effectiveness, based on examining the performance of the campaign and making constant adjustments and additions to it.
PPC campaigns involve a large degree of trial-and-error and (normally) it is particularly important that you have a strong campaign up and running within the first month of its operation. This is why the first month's costs are higher.
Afterwards the campaign maintenance costs drop to £150 per month on an ongoing basis for as long as you require. As mentioned above, this campaign maintenance includes advertising costs, and website management and / or consultancy, and constant reviews. By this time you should be getting at least 200 website visitors per month via the campaign, hopefully considerably more. However, bear in mind that if you have decided not to incorporate the Yahoo option, this may not be possible to achieve, depending on what you are trying to sell.
I can scale the campaign up or down to your specific requirements - such as only running Google AdWords and MSN Search Advertising, and not Yahoo Search Marketing, and setting lower targets for visitor numbers. Bear in mind that even when the advertising stops if you cease to use my services, your website will have benefited considerably from my attention, both in terms of its content / user-friendliness, and in terms of longer term "organic" search engine positionning for relevant search phrases. You could, after a certain period, also request that I train you in how to manage your own campaign.
I also offer a 25% discount if you wish to pay for the whole campaign for a year in advance - however, this is non-refundable.
I also offer the option of training you to manage your own PPC / SEO campaign. My training sessions typically last from around 1030 a.m. to 430 p.m. with a 2 hour lunch break - a solid 4 hours of training is guaranteed in each session. A reasonable degree of post-training telephone / email support is included too. I do not just leave you to struggle on your own! Costs cited assume you are trained here. If you wish me to travel to your place of work then there will be reasonable charges for my travel costs, etc.
The training includes the setting up of the PPC campaign itself, although it does not involve the actual advertising costs. I offer three training sessions with at least a week in between each session. Total Cost £300

If you already know how to update your website, I can train you how to optimise your website for search engines. Typically, a single day's training should be sufficient to show you how to do it. However, bear in mind that you will have a lot of work to do on your own afterwards to make the knowledge you will gain effective! Total Cost £100
